WAIT PATIENTLY
Day 18: Psalm 71:14-15
We studied previously about waiting on the Lord. David says a similar thing here when he says “I will hope continually.”. Hope is not like wishing. It means to patiently wait; like the disciples were told to wait in Jerusalem until they received power. Here, David says he will wait patiently while praising God from the fruit of his lips for His Righteousness and Salvation.
We as believers must remember that God does not provide like fast food (have it your way, unhealthy, fast). He does things HIS WAY, it is for your good, and sometimes it takes time. This means we must be willing not to just wait but wait patiently. The best way to wait patiently is to praise Him for saving your soul and for His righteousness that He has shown towards you. While you wait on Him to answer your prayer, tell Him how great He has been. Tell how wonderful He is. Tell He how awesome His name is.
(Prayer) God of Glory and deliverance. No one compares to you. I am humbled by Your awesome presence and power. I thank You for what You have done in my life. God I ask You to hear my cry and plea. The issues of my heart have been rising up day after day because of everything surrounding my mind. Deliver me from that which desires to destroy me. You are my protection. Deliver me from the words spoken against me by others and even the words that I might have spoken against myself. I trust in You and believe that You will deliver me. While I’m waiting for my change to come, I will patiently wait on You because I believe in You and trust in Your process. In Jesus’ name, amen!
