SHINE ON ME
Day 17: Psalm 102:1-2
One of the most frustrating things to hear is someone’s voicemail when you are in desperate need of help. Then you call another person and reach their voicemail. How great to know that God is not like this. David asks God to hear his prayer and the blessing is that He hears the prayers of all His children. Verse 2 makes mention of hiding your face. In the common language this does not make sense why God would hide His face. You have to first understand Number 6:24-26 in order to understand this verse.
Numbers 6:25 says May His face shine upon you. When God’s face shines upon you, it is equal to Him seeing you in the middle of your day and providing when you need. In others words, receiving the blessing of the Lord. David saying “do not hide your face from me…” means “do not withhold the blessings for my life while I go through troubles in my life”. Those blessings may not be what you pray for, but they will be exactly what you need. What a blessing it is to know…
- God does not function on voicemail
- God’s face is shining upon us
(Prayer): God of Heaven and Ruler of my life. I thank You for the opportunity of having a day when I can let You know how good You are and how great You are in my life. I thank You that I can call on You and know that You hear me. What a blessing it is to know that You hear my every call and that You will answer at the RIGHT TIME. Father, I pray for this day. Let Your face shine upon me in every aspect of this day. Whether I’m in trouble, shine upon me. Whether I am frustrated, shine upon me. Whether I feel lost, empty or broken, Lord shine upon me. Let me know that You are near because I cannot function without You. I love You, Lord. Bless me this day! In Jesus’ name, amen!
