Day 17:

(Scripture)

Joshua 1:1-9

Morning Devotion

God spoke to Joshua and mentioned 3 times to be strong and courageous because He was with Him. He spoke this at a time when Moses had died on the journey to the Promised Land. God spoke over Joshua commanding him to lead by being strong, courageous and following God’s commandments because they would cause him to prosper.

Being strong and courageous alone are not good enough. All the enemies Israel were strong and courageous, but none of them followed God‘s commandments so God was not with them. This is the key for us to enable God’s presence to be in our midst. We must do as He says because it will cause Him to speak over us, strengthen us, and lead us to victory. There is strength in God’s commandments. We must just trust His process and know that the promises He spoke over us will come to pass.

(Prayer)

Lord God, You have been so good to me. You woke me up and gave me a new day. A new day that the enemy has planned to block God’s goodness. He has intentions to keep me looking at the problem and forget about the promises. I cannot forget Your promises no matter what the problem. Take me through the problems of today while I keep speaking Your promises over my life.

I will be courageous this day. Courage to be bold and strong for You. My desire is to overwhelm the problems of today with the word of God inside me. You have given me a word for the day and I will speak Your word in boldness because…

Someone needs to come out of fear and bondage and into courage and freedom.

Someone needs to come out of the problem in strength.

Someone needs to be an overcomer and not overcome.

Someone needs a word and that someone could be me.

I will speak to myself and listen to the promises You will speak over me. Speak Your word over me, O’ Lord, for in You I will be strong!!

Amen
