I GET EXCITED

Day 15: Psalm 122:1

David said that he would get excited when he was invited to go to the house of God. It is not just the place where God presence can be felt, but also the place where the people gather together to celebrate His name. Yes. We can do this alone and in our own homes, but there is something special about God’s people gathering together with the knowledge that there is going to be a collaboration of saints lifting their voices to make a joyful noise in the celebration of God’s name.

How exciting it should be for us when we know we are going to praise the name of the Lord together. He is the One who called us out of darkness, set us free from bondage, cleaned us up, and placed us in a position of favour and victory. Why would I not get excited about it?! This tells us that it’s not just about going to the house of the Lord, but HOW we go to the house of the Lord. The moment we make going to the house of the Lord a chore or something we reluctantly must do, we will never understand David’s excitement in this verse. I should rejoice, get excited, come running when I hear that we are going to the house of the Lord.

(Prayer): Adonai! Ruler of my life! I thank You for all You have done for me. The list would take forever if I tried to mention all You have done in my life. This is why I get excited when I think about Your goodness. I anticipate the day/ moment I hear someone else ready to praise Your name in Your house. The opportunity to join the earthly choir in Your house and celebrate Your name brings joy to my heart. Thank You for giving me this joy. Keep me excited for You, God. Keep me on fire for You, God, as I anticipate hearing the words “Brother/Sister. Come let us go worship the King together!!” Amen!
