Day 15:
(Scripture)
Isaiah 40:28:31
Morning Devotion
Last time we spoke about waiting on God for an answer. Waiting is important because it shuts down the unnecessary and feeds our patience and trust in the Lord. It is something the flesh does not want to do, but that which the spirit is willing to do it because it knows there is an investment within the protection.
It is like the pedestrian light at a crosswalk which has a red and green symbol for those walking. Sometimes we try to bypass the red and run across because we see no traffic. This happens sometimes spiritually when we try to advance in life even though God holds up the red symbol telling us to wait. Not waiting is a dangerous action that can cause damage to our lives. God wants us to wait. Why?
Waiting causes us to deny any other plans or options. It’s a sign of surrender. You cannot wait properly if you have a backup plan to God (that just sounds silly). Waiting requires full surrender knowing that time is not important because God controls time and answers. We wait for a response from Him because we know that He will not just answer, but do a work that no one else can do. As we pray and focus today, let us wait…
(Prayer)
Lord Jesus. There are things in life that continue to try and keep me from what You have for me. They desire for me to give up when things get difficult and not put myself through the storms of life. LORD, there have been certain storms I prayed about and received the victory, but others that felt like strongholds in prayer. You have not called me to give up! Sometimes You call me to pray and fast for the victory.
I need Your strength, Lord. My flesh resists fasting because it grows weak and weary and desires to replenish itself. Help me to wait on You because in the times when I am weak, You promised to renew my strength. In those times when I feel faint during fasting, I am encouraged by Your promises and Your word. You were strengthened and fed during the time You spoke to the woman at the well. May You also strengthen and feed me when I am at a well sharing the good news of salvation. May You strengthen me when I am on my knees in prayer. This is Your promise to me. When I am weak and drained of energy, I will call on the name of the Lord and You will strengthen me. You will return my strength to praise Your name. Thank You, Lord!
Strengthen me!
Amen
