Day 8
(Scripture)
Jeremiah 29:10-14
(Morning Devotion)
The Lord told His people that they would be in captivity in Babylon for 70 years. He also told them to ignore the false prophets and dreams that were led by desires for comfort to remove them from captivity before the time. His word was not a word of comfort for their minds because they wanted their freedom. The captivity came because of sin, so they caused the loss. Yet God was still going to prosper them while they in captivity because He knew the master plan for them.
Why would God send loss as part of His plan for our lives and ask us to embrace this? Because He wanted to show them that He was still in control during their captivity. Loss is not something we would want for ourselves. Yet sometimes it is God’s master plan for us to lose so He can show even our enemies that He controls the situation. You may be going through a trial. Remember that God allowed it to happen and He is still in control because He knows the plans set before you. God is in control!
(Prayer)
God, we thank You that we may be overwhelmed but never overcome because You know the thoughts You think towards us and you work it out for Your glory. So thank You Lord!
In the midst of trouble, thank You Lord because Your plan is working for our good. The problem that we face, thank You Lord, because it is in Your plan for our lives to make us stronger and show the world that our God reigns. If we are willing to submit to You, we win because You are in charge of all that we face.
We humble ourselves, turn from our foolishness and say thank You Lord! We submit to Your perfect plan.
Amen!
