Luke 23:46 -And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ” Having said this, He breathed His last. This weekend is a weekend of joy when it comes to our salvation, but it was also coupled with pain and suffering. When you think of the gruesome punishment our Saviour endured because of the price of sin, it can bring a tear to your eyes. A perfect King had to suffer for the mistakes of others. The last words Jesus spoke when he was on the cross were not words of anger, but rather words of submission. Jesus was submissive to the will of the Father while He was on the cross even down to His last breath. It makes me think “what are our last words in the midst of a rough storm when we talk to the Father?” Sometimes the storm can be so rough that it dictates our feelings and our words. We must realize that the storm should never dictate to us. The example we have is Jesus when he spoke to the storm “Peace, Be Still!”. As you take the time to reflect on what Jesus did for us on the cross, take the time to examine your last words.
